Hope is not a form of currency. Inspiration does not buy groceries. You are not less Black if you dont vote for Barack Obama. Lets not fall for the OKEY-DOKE! This thing is about policy and not people. So lets talk about the policies promoted by the Obama administration and its effect on our efforts to do for self and make true progress. Here are 3 reasons that only a fool would vote for Barack Obama.
Reason Number 1: Under Obama unemployment has hit the black community harder than other segment of the American population. An avowed racist couldn’t have done any worse.
As a byproduct of Obama’s terrible economic policies, the few economic gains made by our people have been wiped out. Jobs are low paid and scarce. Unemployed men who are unwilling to marry (since they are unable) creates a whole new paradigm of single-parent homes not unlike that seen during the Crack era. Poverty creates new patterns of behavior that can be even more destructive than the lack of money. Alcoholism, crime, and sky-rocketing drug use can unleash a wave of destruction on the collective cultural landscape of our people that it will take decades to repair.
Hell, we are still trying to recover from the crack epidemic!
Reason Number 2: Obama has been to Africa what Bush was to the Middle East
Obama has continued to fund and support activities that hurt Africa. Despite his Kenyan blood, he had no problems cutting funding to Kenya and other African nations. Just three short years ago, President Obama and the First Lady visited Ghana and hailed them as important trade partners. Then, as soon as he left, his Department of Commerce quietly closed its office in Ghana, shutting the country out of economic opportunities and trade relations with the U.S. All this, despite the fact that Ghana’s economy is booming. The same scenario played out in Dakar, Senegal and Angola.
Before President Obama authorized military intervention in Libya, the people in that North African country had jobs, food, electricity, running water, homes, free housing, and great healthcare. Blacks were treated with respect, given high positions in government, and volunteered freely to help Libya when the West came with guns ablazing. Now, thanks again to Obama, Libya has been bombed back into the stone age.
Black solders who fought for Libya are now being tortured and killed in inhumane conditions, and even put on display like animals, as shown in
Meanwhile, Obama hypocritically takes the stage and expresses outrage over the crisis in Syria and Iran. No outrage for Africa? No outrage over Joseph Kony?
On a side note: How many Libyans have you seen on TV saying they hated their country?
NOT 1 interview anywhere in “media world” did they have to say how “evil” that man was! So maybe you should look closer into this.
Reason Number 3: Thanks to President Obama, reading this site could get you arrested
Despite all that Obama said about creating a new era of peace and transparency, he has done just the opposite. He has continued to erode privacy and civil liberties, specifically with the National Defense Authorization Act. If you arent familiar, heres a breakdown:
On New Years Eve in 2011, President Obama secretly signed the National Defense Authorization Act giving the military extraordinary sweeping powers to detain United States citizens indefinitely without trial.
The NDAA places the American military at the disposal of the President for the apprehension, arrest, and detention of those suspected of posing a danger to the homeland (whether inside or outside the borders of the United States and whether the suspect be a citizen or foreigner). The endowment of such a power to the President by the Congress is nothing less than a de facto legislative repeal of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, the law forbidding the use of the military in domestic law enforcement.
THIS IS FROM A MAN WHO WON THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!!!!!!!!
Don’t foget that men like Idi Amin, Adolph Hitler, and Mao Zedong also used so-called “national defense acts” just like these to indefinitely imprison, torture, and kill members of opposition political parties and people they flat out didn’t like. The Enabling Act passed in Germany in 1933 made Hitler a dictator by allowing departures from the constitution by Executive Order. The NDAA is in fact a copy of the Hitler law. If it is allowed to stand, it creates a dictatorship in the U.S. just as similar legislation made Hitler a dictator in Germany.
“I’m disappointed in our Black civil rights leaders and organizations that raised a number of concerns very vocally regarding President Bush and his administration’s erosion of civil liberties in America but they’ve been deadly silent on a number of these issues as it relates to Obama,” said a representative of the Nation of Islam. “If we are to be a people about justice, we have to hold people accountable.”
We are poorer, less free, our Motherland is being exploited like never before, and our healthcare remains the same – even after Obamacare. Emergency rooms and community clinics are still packed with patients who cant afford regular doctors office visit. The 2011 U.S. Conference of Mayors’ survey of hunger and homelessness in American cities reported a 6 percent increase in homelessness, along with significant increases in people accessing food pantries and shelters. The War on Drugs rages on, fueling the Industrial Prison Complex more efficiently than ever before. Obama called the War on Drugs an utter failure in 2004. This year, he increased the budget for that same “utter failure” to $26.2 Billion dollars.
Our children’s education is in peril, while Black teachers are being fired en masse. In this article, Glen Ford of Black Agenda Radio wrote:
“If you have any doubt that President Obama and his cronies are at the forefront of public school privatization and the decimation of Black teachers, just take a look at Chicago. That’s where Obama’s basketball buddy, Arne Duncan, wreaked havoc as schools chief until the new president appointed him secretary of education, and where Obama’s former White House chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, now reins as mayor with overall control of the public schools.
Arne Duncan fired 1,300 Chicago teachers during his eight years at the helm, the large majority of them Black women, replaced by mostly white, younger teachers at about half the cost. The teachers union sued, charging racial discrimination – a case that is still before the courts. Now, with a thousand more teachers fired last year under Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the union has filed a complaint with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, once again charging racial discrimination. Blacks currently make up only 29 percent of Chicago’s teachers, but they comprised 43 percent of those recently fired. Whites represent almost half the teaching force, but only 36 percent of the layoffs. The union’s lawyer calls it a “systematic effort to rid the Chicago Public Schools of tenured teachers who are African-American.”
I know this post will earn me plenty of flak. I am ready for it. We trusted that Obama would, at best, reverse the damage done by Bush and at worst do no further damage. He must be held just as accountable as any other house negro that abandons our cause to earn political points.
